Sober 3000 is founded by Kary Youman. This page explains what I collect when you join the workshop waitlist, why, and what happens to it.

What I collect

Please don’t send me your recovery history, medical details, or anything else sensitive. The form doesn’t ask for any of it.

Why I collect it

To send you updates about the first Sober 3000 workshop, like when applications open and the dates, fee and format. Joining the waitlist doesn’t guarantee a place. I don’t sell or rent your information, and I won’t use it for anything unrelated. If I later want to send you something broader, like a regular newsletter, I’ll ask you separately first.

Who processes it

Your name and email address are processed by Sender, the email service I use to manage the waitlist and send updates. My website host may also handle basic technical data, like your IP address, to deliver the site and block abuse. I don’t store that with your signup.

How long I keep it

I currently keep waitlist information for up to 12 months after you sign up, unless you ask me to remove it sooner. I may revise this period as the project develops and will update this page when I do.

Unsubscribing, access, correction, and deletion

Every email I send includes an unsubscribe link. To ask for a copy of your information, to correct it, or to have it deleted, contact me at the privacy contact email. I’ll get back to you promptly.

Contact

Questions about privacy: the privacy contact email.

Not treatment or crisis support

Sober 3000 is a non-clinical, guided group conversation for men in sobriety. It is not addiction treatment, therapy, medical advice, or crisis support. If you are in crisis or in danger, contact local emergency services, or in the U.S. call or text 988.

Changes

If this policy changes, I’ll update the date above.
